Open to the public, the Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival will run August 16 – 20, 2017. This five day Gatlinburg event showcases the talent behind some of the biggest musicians in the world.
Popular performers and songwriters that will be in attendance include Con Hunley, Sylvia, Jim Glaser, Tony Arata, and Victoria Shaw. According to the festival’s website, visitors to the event will get to hear the writers give the backstory and history of each song they perform. There is a good chance you’ll hear one or two of your favorite tunes!
The headliner for this year’s festival is Con Hunley, who is famous for his hit singles “What’s New with You”, “Oh Girl”, “Week-End Friends”, “You’ve Still Got a Place in My Heart”, and “I’ve Been Waiting for You All of My Life”.
Guests at the festival can also enjoy a concert from Sylvia, who topped the charts with her songs “Nobody”, “Drifter”, “Tumbleweed”, “Snapshot”, and “Fallin’ in Love”.
The Gatlinburg event will be spread out among a variety of venues. All of the festival’s concerts are open to the public. The Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival describes itself as “a festival focused on songwriters and bands with all original content.”
