Dollywood New Additions Planned in 2013 and 2014

Little girl coming down the water slideDollywood, located in the heart of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, has some exciting changes and additions in store for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. These changes are sure to equal more fun for the entire family. Here is a highlight of some of these changes:

Dollywood recently added the Wild Eagle thrill ride in 2012 bringing the first winged coaster to America and in 2013 Dollywood Splash Country will be adding RiverRush the first water coaster in Tennessee. This is going to be a ride that gives you an experience of a combination of both a water slide and a roller coaster.

Festival of Nations (from March 23 to April 22) representing 20 different nations, will present Cirque Shanghai featuring amazing acrobats performing spectacular acrobatic feats such as hoop diving, juggling, and tumbling, to name a few. World travelers will also experience Mystic India with its beautiful dancers, colorful garb, ear grabbing music and eye catching visuals. For an additional charge, guests will be able to buy the new Passport to Food for an additional charge which will allow for eating specialties from many of the countries represented.

Dollywood introduces the Great American Country Show. This 40 minute show will showcase today’s hottest country music presented by six singers and a six-piece band. Each show also has a special performance by one of country music’s classic artists.

From June 22 through August 4, Dollywood will celebrate the Great American Summer. This will include the park being opened a bit longer from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The days will begin with the singing of the national anthem during the raising of the American flag. At night, the skies in Dollywood will be ablaze with music and fireworks in a spectacular titled “Dolly’s Night of Many Colors.” Dollywood’s Splash Country waterpark will be gaining Rush River, Tennessee’s first ever water coaster. It is sure to make a splash!

The Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival will open with a new show, “Dollywood’s Christmas Carol,” a twist on the Dickens well-loved classic. The show will feature beautiful scenery, top notch music, and costuming true to the era. It is sure to be a heartwarming performance to be enjoyed by the whole family.
