Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies Introduces New Event: Ripley’s Curious Campout

Ripley’s Aquarium in Gatlinburg has added a new event for families to enjoy! Ripley’s Curious Campout is a sleepover experience made just for families with young children. If you’ve been wanting to spend a night underneath the sharks with your little ones, now is your chance. We’ve gathered all the details on the Curious Campout at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies!

What is Ripley’s Curious Campout?

two kids in an aquariumSleepovers at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies have always been a big hit, and now there’s a new sleepover experience for families to enjoy. This special event is catered to younger children, ages 2 to 6, who don’t meet the age requirements to attend Family Nights at the Gatlinburg aquarium. Curious Campout gives families the opportunity to spend the night at the aquarium! This family sleepover will include a modified schedule with a new nightly activity, a new night time snack and an earlier bedtime. You’ll get to enjoy it all within the Curious Creatures gallery at the aquarium! Kids will love getting to spend the night with all their favorite aquatic animals and learning more about the unique creatures that call the aquarium home.

Ripley’s Curious Campout is for children who are 2 to 6 years old and their families. Of course, families with older children are also welcome to attend!

Ripley’s Curious Campout Dates and Pricing

This special sleepover at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies will take place on October 10 at 8 p.m. Curious Campout will end at 9 a.m. on October 11! The event costs $75 per person.

Ripley’s Curious Campout isn’t the only sleepover at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. It was designed for families whose children didn’t meet the age requirements for their other sleepover nights! The Sleep with the Sharks event is a big hit with families. Large groups can also schedule a sleepover with the sharks. A typical schedule for the sleepovers at the aquarium includes a game, dive show, late-night activity, pizza, a scavenger hunt, and falling to sleep in the underwater tunnel as the sharks swim above you! The next morning, you’ll have breakfast and get to experience a Creature Feature before heading home.

A sleepover with the sharks isn’t the only option for a night spent at the aquarium. You can also choose to have a PJ party with the penguins! Find out what the penguins do at night when you set up camp in the Penguin Playhouse. Your night will include a dive show, scavenger hunt and a late-night activity. In the morning, you’ll have the chance to meet the penguins one-on-one!
