Jessica Jane Peterson Launches New Gatlinburg Magic Show
Visitors to Gatlinburg, TN now have another can’t-miss show to add to their vacation itinerary! Acclaimed illusionist Jessica Jane Peterson recently launched her very own Magic, Comedy & Variety show in the Smokies. Having appeared on Penn & Teller’s TV program and in a number of popular shows around Sevier County, it’s no surprise that Jessica Jane was named the 2017 Magic Entertainer of the Year by the TMT Entertainment Awards.
Running at the historic Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre in downtown Gatlinburg, Jessica Jane’s one-of-a-kind show features head-scratching tricks, hilarious family-friendly comedy routines, heartfelt storytelling, and great music. Destined to Become a Magician
Believe it or not, Jessica Jane has been participating in magic shows since before she was born! As Jessica told the Knoxville News Sentinel, “My mom was a magician’s assistant when she was pregnant with me. My mom was getting sawed in half while she was pregnant with me. True story.”
A native of Franklinville, New Jersey, Jessica spent her youth touring all across America with her magical family. At first, Jessica would just sit backstage waiting for her parents to finish the show, but age 10, she officially joined the act when her folks started sawing her in half on stage! Before long, Jessica Jane was doing her own bits in her family’s magic show as they performed at fairs, festivals, casinos, and theaters around the U.S.
The day after she graduated high school, Jessica literally ran away and joined the circus. At age 17, she became a cast member in a traveling sideshow, where she learned useful skills like walking on broken glass, escaping from straight jackets, and eating fire. After her time with the circus came to a close, Jessica continued to hone her magical abilities performing in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and on cruise ships sailing around the globe.
Around 2009, Jessica Jane moved to Gatlinburg and fell in love with the Smoky Mountains. Before starting her own Gatlinburg magic show, she appeared in the musicals at the Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre and performed alongside fellow magician Terry Evanswood at The Wonders of Magic show in Pigeon Forge.

A career highlight for Jessica Jane was her appearance on the hit TV program Penn & Teller: Fool Us. In the show, magicians from around the world come to Las Vegas to attempt to stump the legendary illusionists Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller with a trick that they cannot figure out.
