The New Face of Hiking in the Smokies: Rocky Top Wine Trail

Think you have conquered all the trails in the Smokies? There is a unique trail that doesn’t involve seeing wildlife, hiking up hills, or sweating. Visit My Smokies introduces guests to the Rocky Top Wine Trail.

About the Wine Trail

One of the most unique Pigeon Forge attractions, The Rocky Top Wine Trail was born from a collaborated effort between five local wineries: Sugarland Cellars, Hillside Winery, Mountain Valley Winery, Eagle Springs Winery, and The Apple Barn Winery. All locally owned and operated, these wineries work together to bring Smoky Mountain vacationers the best wines, made from the freshest ingredients possible. The wine trail is a great opportunity to learn about the history of wine in the Smokies, meet the friendly staff at local businesses, and, of course, sample some Smoky Mountain Wine!

How the Wine is Made

Want to learn more about how the wine on the Rocky Top Wine Trail is made? Each of the individual wineries offers free tours and samples to guests. And once the tour has finished, guests have the option of purchasing their favorite sample from the winery’s store, except on Sundays of course. Wineries are open daily, and guests of all ages are allowed on tours. As long as you are of age, you will get the chance to sample a ton of excellent homemade wines to find the perfect bottle, or two, to take back home!

To add to the excitement, trailblazers can pick up a Rocky Top Wine Trail passport at each of the five locations, and after the third stop will receive a free wine glass. After the fifth stop, guests will receive a free t-shirt and gift to commemorate their experience. Not only do you get to enjoy some Smoky Mountain wine, but you get some amazing souvenirs to take back home!

Become a Member of the Club
