Welcome to Sevier County

Sevier County, Tennessee is known as the "Gateway" to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park – the most visited national park in the country. It is also home to over 81,000 people.

Located off of exit 407 of Interstate 40, Sevier County, TN is comprised of the three most popular cities in the state – Pigeon ForgeGatlinburg, and Sevierville. Over 10 million visitors choose Sevier County each year to enjoy great shopping, world-class theme parks, theaters and live entertainment, local festivals and events. Another big draw is the amount of awesome lodging choices – particularly cabins. While many may think of cabins as being really rustic, Sevier County Tennessee cabins are more like log homes – far from roughing it. Smoky Mountain cabin rentals very popular. You’ll find over 7,000 to choose from in Sevier County alone.

Sevier County weather is seasonable year round, but we do have the pleasure of enjoying four distinct, yet mild, seasons. The Smokies of East Tennessee put on quite a show each spring and fall, with thousands of tourists coming here just to watch the flowers bloom and the leaves change color – gorgeous! Thousands more come to spend the winter holidays in a spacious but snuggly cabin with family and friends. The summer months draw millions to the area because of the beautiful weather, great accommodations and some of the most popular theme parks and attractions anywhere in the county.

Sevier County is also known as the Wedding Capital of the South.  More couples a year come to get married in the mountain gateway towns of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, or Sevierville than anywhere else in the U.S. except for Las Vegas and New York City.  Tennessee is a marriage-friendly state - no waiting period or blood test is required to get a marriage license.

Quality of life is important in Sevier County, TN and we enjoy a good life here. For example, some people take their natural surroundings for granted. In Sevier County, that's impossible. We are blessed to have the Great Smoky Mountains, lakes, rivers and valleys as constant reminders that there is no better place to live, work or play. Gatlinburg became a national attraction overnight with the opening of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited national park in America - now celebrating its 75th Anniversary. Gatlinburg has grown into a major mountain resort destination that offers a ski resort open year-roundRipley’s Aquarium of the Smokies and much more.

Sevierville is the county seat and hometown of Dolly Parton. Visitors can find an abundance of options on their vacation – like NASCAR SpeedParkRainforest Adventure Discovery Zoo, and Tanger Five Oaks Outlet Mall. Sevierville has two wonderful golf courses, Eagles Landing and River Islands, and 600-acre Douglas Lake.
