Primo Eats in Gatlinburg

Eating at a restaurant that knows how to prepare and serve food the correct way makes all the difference when dining out. And when you’re on vacation, having a memorable experience can make or break your trip, depending on if the experience is good or bad. For a great dining experience with excellent Italian food, check out Best Italian in Gatlinburg.

Started 30 years ago, Best Italian is located in the back part of the Elks Plaza shopping center, between traffic lights eight and nine. You have to get off the parkway to find it, but it is well worth the effort. Sit outside by the river and listen to the soothing sounds while you enjoy your meal. It has become so popular that they have opened a second Best Italian, located between traffic lights six and eight on the parkway.   The menu is a gastronomic tour through the Italian countryside. Start with antipasto salad and fried cheese ravioli; move on to the spaghetti and Italian sausage, vegetable primavera, chicken Marsala, or maybe a calzone. They’ve got Alfredo, marinara, parmigiana, pizza – all the traditional fare. And their portion sizes are large; calzones the size of your head, pasta dishes that two can easily share and generous pizza portions.   But they’re known for their garlic knots. Baked to a golden brown, these rolls are topped with olive oil, garlic, herbs and cheeses. When they get to the table, they are swimming in olive oil, which is perfect for dipping and sopping.
