The Truth Behind Smoky Mountain Heritage

Located in the heart of Townsend, Tennessee, the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Museum brings to life the exciting mountain history for all who visit.

Preserving the history of both the Native Americans and the early pioneers of East Tennessee, this Gatlinburg museum is sure to create long lasting memories for all who visit. While there, guests will have the opportunity to tour a variety of historic buildings including The Caldwell Log Cabin, The Montvale Station and the Wilder Chapel.

Need a location for an upcoming special event or Smoky Mountain wedding? The Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center allows groups to rent out several of their venues to create the perfect setting for your next family reunion, business retreat or child’s birthday celebration.

The Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center is open Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays noon- 5 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults ages 18-59 and $4 for children ages 6-17 and seniors 60 and older.
