The Smokies and Making Memories

Cades Cove at sunsetI just had to get involved in this blog today after looking at those images on Facebook. I am not really sure if you follow Visit My Smokies on Facebook (I think you should) but yesterday we shared amazing images of one of our favorite areas, Cades Cove. Each image is simply spectacular and makes all viewers want to visit our Smoky Mountain Area. By the way, this is The Smoky Mountain Girl, special guest for today.

As a person who’s had the opportunity to grow up in this amazing place I can recall many trips around the Loop in Cades Cove. It seems that anytime out of town family members gathered in our Sevier County home we without hesitation drove through the Smokies. Gosh, I can remember eating hamburgers in Sevierville at Ellison’s Grocery Store, going to Porpoise Island in Pigeon Forge and
sitting in the rocking chairs in downtown Gatlinburg and even as a kid I loved it. You see, I love people and I think as kids we all loved to sit around and watch people and listen to all that grown-up talk. Funny what comes to mind.

The memories
that come to mind make me smile. I want
to share this photo with you because it is one of my favorite. It’s me and my son maybe in the early ‘90s in
Cades Cove. We had been around the loop
and stopped to enjoy the activities at the Grist Mill. You know you should take time to browse
through this site and check out the accommodations,
make a reservation and come create your very own memories. Believe me time goes by fast and those
children will be grown before you know it.

Oh, and some of
our lodging folks are offering some great deals
right now so come on over and be our guest.
