Wears Valley is one of the most beautiful areas in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Although the area is quaint, many vacationers choose to spend thier time there because it’s rather peaceful and quiet compared to the action-packed towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

When visitors choose Wears Valley, they are looking for the calm environment surrounded by the rolling hills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. But why do you visit Wears Valley?   • Peace and Quiet

Although Wears Valley isn’t really a secret, it’s definitely one of the areas with less of a commercial feel. There are a few attractions along Wears Valley Road, leading to Wears Valley itself, but nothing quite like what you’ll find when you wander along the Parkways in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

Wears Valley has what we refer to as a ‘secret entrance’ to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. While it’s not really secret, because it can be found on just about any map of the national park, there’s much less traffic in this area. The entrance takes visitors straight across a bridge and into the dense forestry of the park.

In the winter months, this area is especially beautiful because the snow falls perfectly over the trees. When the sun shines, the glistening snow will slowly melt away, making Wears Valley one of the best places to take snowy Smoky Mountain pictures.

If you like to visit local eateries, Wears Valley may be the place for you! With one of the best, and most popular, local restaurants in the Smokies, you can’t go wrong! Elvira’s Cafe is known for serving a ‘farm to table’ style menu, with only the freshest, in-season ingredients.
