Artwork that Celebrates the Smoky Mountains

The Smoky Mountains leave many people in awe of their beauty, with the dramatic landscapes and colors. Sevier County is fortunate to have numerous artists who do a great job of bringing the area to life with their work. One of the best is Robert Tino.

The Robert Tino Gallery is located off Highway 66, as you come into Sevierville, behind Buddy’s BBQ and
the movie theater. Housed in a two-story antebellum home that is listed on the Tennessee Register of Historic Places, the gallery displays the amazing work of
Tino. At different times of the year, the gallery hosts events celebrating spring, harvest time and the holidays. And from time-to-time, the artist
himself will be at the gallery to sign works and talk with visitors.

Using watercolors and oils, Tino creates a style that is a combination of realism and impressionism. He shows his personal experience with the area with splashes of color and shows depth and texture in his work. Among his most popular pieces are paintings of black bears, mountains and riversides. The mediums and types of art he uses include watercolors, oils, Giclées, lithographs, collector’s editions, posters, ceramic tiles, note cards and more. They ship anywhere in the world, so you don’t have to worry about getting your picture scratched or smushed trying to load it in the backseat of the station wagon.

Perhaps it is the natural scenery of our area that draws so many who have artistic talents. Whatever the reason, while you spend your time here, be sure to see what they have to offer and take home a piece of the Smoky Mountains with you. And nothing displays them better than work from Robert Tino.
