What to Expect at the National Quartet Convention
In case you didn’t know, the National Quartet Convention is the largest Southern Gospel singing event in the world. Each year, event organizers expect over 40,000 attendees from more than 13 countries to come together and celebrate their love for music.
A week-long event, the convention features over 500 exhibitors, nearly 300 Gospel artists and a countless number of fans. With this many people, we can guarantee that there will be no shortage of new things to discover and inspirational music to hear.
The National Quartet Convention makes use of a state-of-the-art video imaging system. This will help make every seat in the house feel as if you are sitting in the front row.
The floor plan will feature staggered seating. This means you won’t have to worry about someone tall sitting in front of you and blocking your view. It also improves the overall visibility of the performances!
Finally, the last 10-15 rows of seating are slightly elevated on risers. This will be a huge benefit to guests choosing to sit toward the back of the concert hall.
History of the National Quartet Convention
The National Quartet Convention was founded in 1957 by J.D. Sumner, who is a gospel music legend and former bacup vocalist for Elvis Presley. He co-produced the event with James Blackwood. The convention moved from Nashville, TN to Lousville, KY, where it was held for 20 years before being brought to our beautiful Pigeon Forge.

The National Quartet Convention takes place late September at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge. There will be live performances every day throughout the convention.
