Their Story: How The Sweet Shoppe of the South Came to Be

Food Network stars, Susan Catron and Nikki Gribble, both loved spending time in the kitchen, and they both dreamed of owning a shop where they could spend time enjoying their passions for baking. On May 11, 2011, their dreams came true when they opened The Sweet Shoppe of Blue Ridge.

Then, in October 2011, the ladies were invited to Los Angeles to film an episode of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars. After competing and earning 2nd place, they headed back home to Georgia. Only days later, the Food Network invited the ladies back to film another episode of Cupcake Wars. This time, they would be competing in a redemption episode against other finalists. Obviously, they accepted the offer to take the challenge.

In the same month, the ladies made their way back to Los Angeles for another round of Cupcake Wars. This time, they WON and were named ‘Cupcake Wars Champions.’
