City to Move Forward On New Baseball Themed Pigeon Forge Park

Calling all baseball fans! The city of Pigeon Forge recently voted to begin negotiations with the well-known franchise Ripken Baseball to bring a multi-million dollar baseball facility to the area.

Upon completion, the new Ripken Experience Pigeon Forge park will consist of a total of seven full-sized baseball fields will room to expand. City officials hope that both youth travel teams and baseball championships will fall in the love with the new complex, and their experience in the Smokies will inspire their families to return for a family vacation.

To be located off Teaster Boulevard, the new Pigeon Forge park will be the third of its kind. Other Ripken Experience parks are located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Aberdeen, Maryland.

Ripken Baseball was founded by popular Major League Baseball Hall of Fame Member Cal Ripken Jr. The franchise is founded on the baseball principles of perseverance, integrity and determination.

Nicknamed The Iron Man, Cal Ripken Jr. played both shortstop and third base for 21 years for the Baltimore Orioles. During his tenure, Ripken earned two American League MVP awards, 19 All-Star awards, and is most well known for breaking Lou Gehrig’s record for consecutive games played with 2,632.
