There’s millions of holiday lights that sparkle throughout the Smoky Mountain area this time of year. And there’s one attraction that take visitors on a ride through all of the Pigeon Forge lights–the Pigeon Forge Trolley Tour of Lights. People of all ages love visiting the seasonal attraction every year, and here’s what you need to know to make sure you are ready to visit:

What is the Pigeon Forge Trolley Tour of Lights?

The Pigeon Forge Trolley Tour of Lights is the newest way to explore the Smoky Mountains without having to drive from place to place to see all of the holiday lights.

Every year, visitors gather to catch a ride on the Pigeon Forge trolley tour. Each trolley will have its own personal tour guide who will be there to answer questions and share stories. The tour takes you through the area, sharing some of the history of the lights and reasons they have been around for so many years.

The Pigeon Forge Christmas Lights tour has already started. When you visit the area this December or January, make sure you plan a visit. Through the end of December, the tours run Monday through Friday evenings at 6:30, 7:45 and 9:00 p.m. In January, the tour only runs on Mondays and Fridays at those times.

Cost to Ride on the Trolley Tour

For only $5 per person, you can catch a ride on the Pigeon Forge Christmas lights tour. If you have a larger group of people, like a party of 10 or more, you are asked to make a reservation. Your group reservation can be made by contacting the Pigeon Forge Trolley station at (865) 453-6444.

Many people get confused about where to park for the Pigeon Forge Christmas lights tour. It’s best to drive to Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge and park at the main trolley station there. The parking at Patriot Park is free for all visitors. You can even visit Patriot Park a little early and talk a walk around to see the beautiful nature as you take a walk along the river.

What to Wear

Like all attractions in Pigeon Forge this time of year, it is best to wear casual, comfortable clothes. You will be riding on a heated trolley, but it’s still a good idea to dress warmly and wear tennis shoes or comfortable shoes to walk in. You will appreciate having a scarf and gloves during your ride, especially if you tend to stay cold. some families even find it easier to bring hand warmers with them on the ride. These won’t be necessary unless you plan to walk around the area after the tour of lights.
