Is a Cabin in the Smoky Mountains Right for Your Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg Vacation?

Are you thinking about taking a vacation to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, but you’re just not sure if a cabin in the Smoky Mountains is right for you? Take an inside look in our video below for reasons to stay in a cabin in the Smoky Mountains on your next vacation to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg!

Meredith:  Hi, I’m Meredith with Visit My Smokies, and today we’re at the Preserve Resort, right here in Sevierville, Tennessee. We’re here to take you insider’s look into what’s like to stay in a cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains.  And here to show us around is Jimbo Whaley. He is a native of Sevier County and also a vacation rental expert.

Jimbo:  Hey, Meredith, how are you doing?

Meredith:  Hey, Jimbo. How are you?

Jimbo:  Great to see you again.

Meredith:  Good to see you too.View from Newfound Gap Road

Jimbo:  Glad you came out.  Come on in.

Meredith:  Okay. So people from all over the world come to the Great Smoky Mountains just to stay in these cabins.

Jimbo:  Sure.

Meredith:  What makes this experience so special?

Jimbo:  You know, you just said my favorite word, “experience.”  When you stay in a cabin, you get an experience like no other.  There’s something you’ll remember when you get older.  Everybody is together in a cabin.  You don’t have neighbors right next door to you that you have to worry about.  Everybody’s got their own sleeping quarters.  You’re not just paying for somewhere to sleep and lay your head.  When you stay in a cabin, it’s that thing you’ll remember and you’ll do it year, after year, after year, after year.  Meredith, a lot of people think that Yellowstone is the most visited national park in the country.  It’s not.  It’s the Great Smoky Mountains National Park!  When you come to the Smokies, you expect a log cabin.  So why not just get the full Smoky Mountain experience?  And you know, a lot of our cabins have wonderful mountains views, right off a back deck, just like we have here.

Meredith:  Oh, wow!

Jimbo:  Isn’t that something?

Meredith:  That is absolutely breathtaking.  And this is great because, in a cabin you have the comforts of home…

Jimbo:  Yes.

Meredith:  But you also have these amazing views.

Smoky Mountains fall picturesJimbo:  Absolutely.  You’ve got comforts of home plus a couple.  Not everybody has a pool table in their house, not everybody has a foosball table, not everybody has a hot tub on their deck with this wonderful view of the Smoky Mountains.  So most of these cabins have these upgraded amenities that you only get here.  Whether you’re a honeymoon couple and it’s just the two of you and you want to get away, or you’ve got that family reunion, cabins can suit your needs.  We have these large cabins that can sleep up to seventy-five people under one roof.  So yeah, it’s pretty awesome.

Ah the kitchen, the most important room. When you staying in a cabin a great way to save money, is most cabins come with fully equipped kitchens.  All the appliances that you can dream of, we’ve got it all.  Plus plates, forks, spoons, knives, the whole nine yards.  So, families can come in, run by their local grocery store, pick up their food, they can actually prepare and eat every single meal right here in their cabin.  So it could save them some money.  We’ve got grills that are outside, and this cabin actually has a picnic table out on the back deck.  So you’ve got all that right here at your fingertips.  You want to be entertained obviously, and one of the perks of renting a cabin is most of them come with a full sized pool table.  They’ve all got cable television.  Another thing is, each bedroom in this cabin has its own private bathroom, which is important.

Meredith:  That’s great. So there’s a space for when you want together time, and then there’s also a place to go when everyone wants their private time as well.  There is literally something for everyone.

Jimbo:  Something for everyone.  And like we said to begin with, this is an experience, you’re going to love it.

Meredith:  I can definitely see why people choose a cabin to stay in, in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Jimbo:  Absolutely.  There’s no better way to do it.

Meredith:  Thank you so much, Jimbo.

Jimbo:  Yes ma’am, I was glad to have you.

Meredith:  I appreciate it. From Sevierville Tennessee, signing off.  Bye!
