The City of Gatlinburg Sets Official Date to Reopen to the Public

The City of Gatlinburg has officially announced the date it is planning to reopen for business. We have all been patiently awaiting for this news as our area continues to bounce back and recover from the recent wildfires.

We are excited to announce that the City of Gatlinburg will reopen to the public on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 7:00 a.m.

Major roadways will be open to the general public, but there will be some city roadways may remain closed for construction and utility work. Don’t worry, though – this won’t affect your vacation plans at all! Everything you know and love about the Gatlinburg area will be opening back up to serve you – and we’re all excited to see you visiting again!

We drove along the Gatlinburg Parkway just a couple of days ago, and we know businesses will be open and ready for you to visit on Friday! Take a look at our drive:

UPDATE (December 8, 2016)

Start Planning Your Vacation to Gatlinburg

Gatlinburg will be open for business, so make sure to check out all of the great Gatlinburg attractions, Gatlinburg shops, and Gatlinburg restaurants to visit while you’re here. They are all excited to see you, too!

Don’t forget – you will also be able to make your way into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park where you can go hiking and explore the nature and wildlife in the area. There are around 245,000 acres of land on the Tennessee side of the national park alone – so there’s plenty of places for you to get out and see the mountains!

We’ll Keep You Updated

We expect more information about the area to be provided throughout the next few days. We will update this article as soon as more information is available.

Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers during this time. We look forward to reopening, but keep praying for our area throughout the coming days as we prepare to open for business again.

this is wonderful news for you all. So sad for what has happened. Just moving to Pigeon Forge in a few weeks. I’m wondering about the Arts and Crafts road…will we be able to go into that area?

Excited! About to cancel our vacation plans when we came upon your site. Staying at the Doubletree Park Vista…any news on them? How about Dollywood, will we be able to visit?

I know that Dollywood is open for business on their regular schedule. They had a fire come close but were not damaged.
