Sugarlands Mountainfest: New Music and Outdoor Festival Coming to Gatlinburg

This fall, Sugarlands Distilling Company will host a brand new music and outdoor festival in Gatlinburg, TN! Featuring concerts from Hard Working Americans, The Travelin’ McCourys, the Jeff Austin Band, and more than two dozen other groups, this four-day celebration is a can’t-miss event for anyone who loves roots music. In addition to all of the wonderful tunes, the festival will also include running, cycling, and fishing competitions, whiskey tastings, food trucks, craft demonstrations, and even more fun. Read on to learn everything you need to know about attending the Sugarlands Mountainfest.

Sugarlands Mountainfest Dates

The Sugarlands Mountainfest will run from Thursday, September 28 through Sunday, October 1, 2017. The fun will take place at 756 Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg.

The Friday night concert will close out with a special collaboration between The Travelin’ McCourys and the Jeff Austin Band called “The Grateful Ball”. This set will feature covers of Grateful Dead songs

Sugarlands Mountainfest Activities 

When they’re not enjoying the awesome music, guests at the Sugarlands Mountainfest can participate in a number of unique activities. Here are the fun events on the schedule:

Tennessee Whiskey Experience: Sample craft whiskey and cocktails from over 20 Tennessee distilleries at the festival’s kick-off party. This event will also feature tasty hors d’oeuvres and toe-tapping live music.

Running Events: There will be a number of foot races throughout the festival, including the Dynamite Downhill Dash, Outlandish Ober Uphill 5K, Silver Cloud Trail Run, Gatlinburg Parkway 5K, and the PB&J Kids Mile.

Cycling Events: The “Tour de Smokies DreamRide” will take cyclists from Gatlinburg through The Spur in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Fishing Event: The “Battle of Gatlinburg” is an epic fishing competition consisting of three tournaments for all ages and skill levels with over $3,000 in cash and prizes.

Meet the Moonshiners: The distillers profiled in the Discovery Channel show Moonshiners will be at Sugarlands Distilling Company for a meet and greet on Saturday.

Appalachian Market: Browse for the perfect Smoky Mountain souvenir and watch craft demonstrations from local artisans.

All-Star Square Dance: Help raise money for the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont by participating in this awesome square dancing event with music from the Tennessee Stifflegs (and possibly other special guests). No previous square dancing experience is required!

Outdoor Exchange: A variety of outdoor companies will be selling gear and gadgets that hikers and adventurers are sure to love.

Fixins & Mixins: Local food trucks will be on hand to serve up all of the best Smoky Mountain specialties and the Sugarlands Shine mixologists will craft delicious cocktails for festival goers.

Distillery Tours: Sugarlands Shine will offer tours of its distillery and a special Distiller of the Day experience where visitors can try their hand at making moonshine.

Sugarlands Mountainfest Tickets

Tickets for the festival are available at the official Sugarlands Mountainfest website. There are a variety of ticket options, so make sure that you are signing up for all of the events you want to attend.
