Members of the acclaimed Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community will share their knowledge in over 40 different classes this April. Visitors will have the chance to learn a variety of new skills, such as jewelry making, broom making, knitting, woodworking, painting, and so much more. Best of all, you’ll get to take your handmade gift home with you after the workshop!
3. Wine, Dine, and Art Crawl
For more fun in the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community, come to the Wine, Dine, and Art Crawl! This evening event consists of a guided tour of the many galleries and a special collection of local wines and appetizers from some of Gatlinburg’s best restaurants. Guests will also have the chance to meet the talented artists who work in the community.
The wine keeps flowing at Smoky Mountain Wine Fest! Held at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, this excellent event gives guests the unique opportunity to sample wines from all over the state of Tennessee. Wineries who have participated in past Wine Fests include Cades Cove Cellars, Apple Barn Winery, Eagle Springs Winery, and Tennessee Valley Winery. 5. Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage
If you would like an upclose look at Gatlinburg’s stunning spring scenery, you can’t beat the Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage! This annual five day event consists of over 150 programs, including guided hikes, motorcades, and a variety of workshops. Guests will have the chance to see the national park’s breathtaking spring flowers and to learn about wildlife, photography, history, and a variety of other fascinating topics. Celebrate Earth Day with a beautiful afternoon in Mynatt Park. Families will enjoy a variety of fun activities, including craft stations, games, and live music. 7. Earth Day 5K
The Earth Day 5K is another great way to get outdoors this April! This night race through downtown Gatlinburg starts and ends at the Nantahala Outdoor Center parking lot at traffic light #10. Both runners and walkers of all ages are welcome to participate.
8. Mountain Man Memorial March
Honoring the fallen heroes of the U.S. military, the Mountain Man Memorial March offers a variety of unique races. Runners can choose between a marathon, half marathon, or 10 KM race through the Gatlinburg area. The event will also feature a series of 26.2 mile or 13.1 mile marches with different categories for individuals, teams, civilians, and members of the military.
